Truck Fest '04 announces full line up, tickets disappearing sharpish
gdobson by Gareth Dobson May 25th, 2004

July's very own South-of-the-border musical highlight, the Truck Festival, has announced full details of its lineup. Essentially a summation of (practically) every decent independent (not indie) band going and a few big-label treats, this year's line up has expanded beyond previous years into the nebulous of "bloody hell, that's pretty amazing".

Names that won't escape the less avid of indie-ist are The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Simple Kid, Chikinki, My Red Cell, Jetplane Landing, Winnebago Deal, Buck 65, Million Dead and Chris T-T.

The logisticals are;

Truck Festival 2004, Hill Farm, Steventon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.

July 24th-25th 2004

Taking place at Hill Farm in Steventon, Oxfordshire, the festival is now in its seventh year. The festival is not run for profit, with every penny not used for maintaining the site going to supporting charities, ranging from Art Therapy to Mali Redevelopment.

Aside from the bands, major plus points are that the food is cheap (and served up with a friendly smile from the local Rotary Club), the beer (cheap, also) is poured by men dressed as ladies, and the ice cream is flogged by the local vicar, who's flogging ices in aid of his church light fund.

This year, the site now has been expanded to a capacity of 3000 with a fifth stage added, an enlarged camping area and kids park.

Tickets are on sale now from www.truckrecords.com and are priced at £25 until the end of June or £35 thereafter.

We urge you to go.

The full line up in no particular order of greatness is; (only stopping to mention Drowned In Sound Record's very own Redjetson)
