'king night' is the immense and claustrophobic debut album from michigan / chicago-based trio salem, they have built a fanatical cult following over the ast two years as they evoke certain elements of ethereal shoegaze, withdrawn houston screw and production qualities akin to the frenetic delivery of contemporary southern rap and chicago footwork. think a mix of massive attack, early 4ad records and dj screw. the album was mixed by dave sardy (lcd soundsystem, rage against the machine, slayer).
