Even though Radiohead went from making epic guitar-crunching classics, to deciding they were Squarepusher fans, there are always going to be bands floating about who still like to try and make guitar-crunching classics of their own. Few do it successfully. South Londoners Carbon 4 are along those lines, and it's safe to say at least one of them owns a Jeff Buckley album. They operate on the formula of semi-acoustic verse, then a louder electric chorus, most notably on standout track 'Blue Star'. The vocals are pleasant and it's all very inoffensive, but lacks a bit of an edge. There's some way to go yet before they'll pen a classic of their own but they're certainly on the right tracks.
