I don’t know what this song is about. I don’t really care. All I know is that sometimes, things just rock. The sad thing is, it’s not fresh and exciting, or something you can start calling the best thing in the world ever because he plays the drums from Japan in some groundbreaking movement of mind energy or something. Shame.
If we are to believe that Reuben and their ilk are the nu-rock movement of our time and that their time is coming, then may I suggest that beforehand, you keep any records that really mean something to you. I am yet to find anything truly soul-bothering in this rabble, but the one thing that has stayed true and consistent is the ability of the music to just make you jump. Lots.
You’re not gonna leave your stereo enlightened as to the future of your inner self. You’re gonna want to get a battered guitar from Cash Converters for £20 (with amp) and rock like a total cunt. Get sweaty, bother the neighbours with your crappy power chords and if they complain tell em to _shit off back to their scumhole _cos they clearly lack the passion or charisma that just gushes from this record.
*Reuben *have made their suggestion: ‘Let’s Stop Hanging Out’. I say, bollocks to that cos I’m coming round to play.
