Proof indeed, that the common image of Karen O belting round the stage screaming like a drunken lady on a Club 18-30 excursion is in fact wrong. Some of the time at least.
Emoting in a veritable Chrissie Hynde stylee whilst Nick Zinner drops heavy bomb-shaped riffs, 'Y Control' is a really rather excellent piece of taut controlled agression. Thematically, it's really rather sad; all battered lyrics and maudlin refrains of "_I wish i could buy back the woman you stole_". Uplifting? Not in the slightest.
Of course the album came out a good 7 years ago now, and it's merely a slightly cynical piece of DVD-related marketing, but... hey.
