Making two-minute pop songs that sound like Sonic Youth is not easy. We Will Be Pilots have been pogoing around the small towns for about a year now and this, their debut release, holds six of said songs. These kids are full of beans and are producing some highly energetic fuzzy indie punk rock that Idlewild would have been proud when they still spelt their name iDLEWiLD.

The sheer franticness totally absolves you of any blame when it comes to claiming responsibility of the damage done to the room surrounding your stereo. Just blame the adrenaline. These trainee aviators have arrived with shouty, twisted vocals that flail over obscenely buzzy guitars last seen in the '90s; all sculpting a gamut of fierce songs that have probably seen the wrong side of Pete Waterman on stimulants galore.

If there is any justice in the world, Lemar will fuck off and he'll take Keane down with him. Then We Will Be Pilots will receive their wings and all will be good.
