KOMAKINO
They are the band for 2006. Even Johnny Borrell agrees as do the folks at the NME what with calling them “brit-rocks best new band”. This summer their pop laced with spaceship fuel had crowds dancing across the land including blistering performances with Cooper Temple Clause and at Reading/Leeds and Wireless. Their debut single ‘Say Something’ on Drowned in Sound Recordings came sealed air-tight in meat wrapping, complete with Polaroid’s individually taken by the band, sold out in 48hours and copies are going on eBay for as much as forty quid!

FEAR OF MUSIC
Sounding like a mix between Muse, Pixies and King Adora, Fear of Music are four Manchester teenagers who have been causing a stir with the public and industry over the last year. Gaining massive support from Steve Lamacq and XFM alike, there are many more killer hooks and sweaty gigs to come...

EMMY THE GREAT
Is already a legend in her own right. She writes sweet'n'wee-soured folk ditties with hints of Adam Green and the shambles of Cat Power. She's a very special and very sweet luminary in waiting who will charm you to the floor, only to flutter her eyelids and restore your faith in all that is beautiful.

R E D J E T S O N
DrownedinSound Recordings' stargazers debut album ‘New General Catalogue’ slid out earlier this year. Things are currently hotting up with two nights supporting Bloc Party at Brixton Academy, a tour with Pure Reason Revolution and their first full single ‘This, Every Day, For The Rest of Your Life’ released on October 31st 2005, featuring remixes from Hope of the States’ Ant Theaker and a video directed by Paul Gore whose made amongst other things Snow Patrol's ‘Run’ promo.
Here are some of the lovely things people have said about Redjetson:
“Redjetson are one of my favourite bands at the moment. Dramatic, intense and exciting…” - Kele Okereke, BLOC PARTY
“…Redjetson are a massive force to be reckoned with - theirs is a sound built on searing guitars, soaring vocals and cathartic rhythms, all played with ear shattering, heart breaking volume and pathos…this is a masterpiece of invention and interest.” - NME
“Breathtakingly beautiful…find out why loud is the new loud. Brilliant.” - THE FLY

FIELD MUSIC
Field Music, brothers David and Peter Brewis with friend Andrew Moore, have attained semi-legendary status in their native North East having set up the mysterious Studio 8 where Maximo Park and The Futureheads recorded their first tracks. Field Music's sound is somewhat more refined than either of their neighbours' - its a Left Banke-esque mixture of symphonic and pop sensibilities, coming on like Sparks and Van Dyke Parks doing Beatles covers.
"The most charming act to emerge this year" The Observer
"Field Music's Debut is a genius, folk-psychedelic shangbang" 8/10 NME

THE WHIP
"Comprising ex-members of underrated Manchester electronic act Nylon Pylon, who were signed to London Records and supported The Music on a UK tour in Feb 2002 at their peak, The Whip are a more reflective band with incalculable potential. Bridging the gap between LCD Soundsystem/The Departure and their Depeche Mode/Gang of Four influences.... Let's hope this band are here to stay." High Voltage Magazine
www.thewhip.net

THE AUTOMATIC
Recently signed to B-Unqiue, this Welsh quartet take in influences as far ranging The Cooper Temple Clause, Blur, Jarcrew, Radiohead, Queen, Interpol, At The Drive In.... debut single out later this year! www.theautomatic.co.uk

LES INCOMPETENTS
Imagine a party band that lurks somewhere between Art Brut, Beefheart and Blood Brothers. Add to that a live show featuring umbrellas, cowbells, feathers and antlers and you're left with the most fun band in London.
Their double-A debut single 'Reunion' / 'Much Too Much', wrapped in string'n'brown paper, on White Heat Records, sold out pretty much instantly and picked up fresh meat plays on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show and their video was all over Mtv2's 120 Minutes. They've tipped by many as one of the bands of 2006. Come catch their ramshackle riot show!
"Les Incompétents jump around as though they're auditioning for a circus act. They deserve an A+ for energy... give them a variety show!" - NME
"Live music has never been so fun, theatrical, and good-looking. Les Incompétents are the future." - Artrocker

NEPHEW
Manchester's Nephew are reminiscent of those dramatic moments when you're listening to The Dears or the peak of Hope of the States' mountainous climbs. Teetering on the edge of something theatrically immense, Nephew are an exciting prospect to hold – if only to suck in the promise of what could be.

FOLDED REMEDIEZ A beat-boxing duo who can only be described as Manchester's answer to Rahzel. Known to almost bring the house down at most indie shows they've played (including supporting Doves at Apollo) they deliver inspired covers of both the Eastenders and Casualty theme tunes, among others. Expect something special at ITC!

ACTION PLAN
Having plied their wares around London for a good year or so now, Action Plan have built an enviable live reputation, with powerful performances with bands including Razorlight. The band release their debut single 'Stendhal' this October on the ace Young & Lost Club label.

THE MADELINES
London based 4-piece The Madeleines fall somewhere between Death Cab for Cutie, Television and The Cure, but bring an original spin that's helped to create three minute indie pop pieces of heaven, such as live favourites 'Trouble' and 'Rosalia'. With their first single out in November on Destructible, some radio play and a host of followers behind them, they're definitely one to watch for the new year.
