The four-day event, sponsored by mobile phone bods O2 and organised by Clear Channel, will feature four very different British bands playing a headlining role on each day. New Order will open proceedings on Friday 24th June, followed by Basement Jaxx on the 25th. After a three-day break, Keane will top the bill on Wednesday 29th and Kasabian will close the event with a swagger on the 30th.
Many more bands will be announced over the coming weeks, and the event will feature a number of other attractions in addition to the main stage action. Expect a comedy stage, an acoustic performance space, a 'chill-out' area, and a slew of fancy food stalls. Oh, and expect lesser-known acts to get a leg up, too - organisers are committed to the showcasing of tomorrow's talent.
Stuart Galbraith, Festival Director of Clear Channel, said: "We are proud to not only be continuing the great tradition of live music in Hyde Park, but also to be developing the template alongside the Royal Parks and Princes Trust for central London's first true festival. Presenting emerging artists on the brink of breaking through alongside a mix of fantastic established acts is very rewarding and something we are really proud of".
Russ Shaw, Marketing Director at O2, commented: "O2 Music's sponsorship of Wireless demonstrates our committment to music and offers an opportunity to enhance the experience for our customers."
Tickets for the event, ON SALE NOW, are priced at £35 per day. Visit the Wireless website for further information and tickets (from the 12th), or book through this number right here:
