The rap star, 30, now faces a possible jail sentance of up to five years.
Lil' Kim, real name Kimberley Jones, told a grand jury that she did not know who had been involved in the aforementioned shooting, which took place outside a New York radio station. However, two associates of Jones contradicted her by admitting that they had opened fire. Thus, the prosecution claimed that she had lied to investigators to protect her friends.
A number of excuses were given but rejected by prosecution lawyers, who proved that Jones was still friends with the shooters at the time of the incident.
The rapper was cleared of obstructing the course of justice, which carries a longer jail sentence, but the jury sided with the prosecution over perjury allegations, leaving the rapper facing five years behind bars.
