Make sense of this: The Sun reports that Scarlett Johansson is to release a record, entitled Scarlett Sings Tom Waits.
Which, we assume, is a covers record. But assumptions are there to be shattered, of course. There is a ridiculously tenuous link between Tom Waits and Johansson: the gravel-voiced singer performed at the wedding of Spike Jonze and Sophie Coppola in 1999, and Coppola later directed Johansson in Lost In Translation. What? I've just been reading IMDB.com? You got me...
Anyway, the red-top reports that Johansson's singing voice is whispery, which would suit the songs of Mr Waits just fine, we reckon. More news to follow as and when we have it, and if it's, like, interesting.
