Green Day are facing a lawsuit from a man who claims that he wrote all of their last album, American Idiot.
Thirty-year-old Paul McPike claims that he wrote the whole album while at college, while in his teens. In his lawsuit, it is claimed that McPike performed versions of the album's songs to friends, and that one colleague leaked the material to the successful pop-punkers.
Unsurprisingly, a district judge has not given the case permission to proceed, stating that McPike's accusations aren't backed up by enough evidence. Oh rly?
He's to report to said judge once further evidence has been collected. If there actually is any, obviously.
