Chalk - a new weekly club in association with Drowned in Sound
crablin by Colin Roberts December 19th, 2006

Crying out for a better Saturday night? Look no further than Chalk

London's Saturday night indie club scene has become somewhat stagnant of late. The same people doing the same thing all over. Where's the grandiose gestures? Where's the class?

Well, from January 13th, it's at Kings Cross's ever-splendid Scala venue. It's in association with Drowned in Sound and it's called Chalk.

Brought to you by Stylish Riots, Young Turks and Drowned in Sound, alongside ActionAid's Bollocks to Poverty campaign, Chalk will be hosting three rooms of DJs and bands, spanned across a range of genres and styles, every Saturday night.

The launch night (Saturday January 13th) includes appearances from Mystery Jets, Hot Chip, Jack Peñate, Cajun Dance Party and many more.

Future events include artists as widely-ranged as Foals, Whitey, Metronomy, Rumblestrips, Uffie, Shitdisco, Late of the Pier and more besides.

You can find out more at the official site www.chalkclub.co.uk and keep up-to-date with exclusive line-up announcements, updates, competitions right here at Drowned in Sound. We'll be hosting rooms, DJing and inviting some our favourites down regularly to take part and you are of course welcome to join in.

Every Saturday, Kings Cross, BE THERE!
