The Isle Of Wight's the place to be come September time (7th 'til the 9th) for spotting the likes of Mike D, a pair of Adams and a Tom and Ed, as this year's Bestival is to be headlined by The Beastie Boys (pictured) and The Chemical Brothers.
Also confirmed for the three-dayer are The Levellers, The Maccabees, Billy Bragg and a handful more - click to the festival's website, here, for additional acts and further information.
Tickets for Bestival are on sale now for a variety of prices, dependent upon what your requirements are. Again, click to the website for details.
Says Ed Simons, 50 per cent of The Chemical Brothers, on playing the Rob da Bank-curated event: "We’re very excited to be playing at Bestival. It was the best party I went to last summer, I can't believe we haven't done it yet, we're going to rock the house!"
Yes. Yes, you are. According to official sources, The Beasties have a few surprises up their collective sleeve. I've never seen them before, so whatever they do's likely to be a surprise to me. Bestival is their only UK festival appearance in 2007, yo.
Rob da Bank, he's said the following:
"I can't believe we're about to launch the fourth Bestival and I'm as excited as ever about the acts we've got on board already and the hundreds more to come. We're the only English festival to get the Beastie Boys and I can't wait to see the fancy dress loonies po-going along to 'No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn'. Friday headliners The Chemical Brothers are old favourites of all of us at Bestival HQ and their new tunes are miles ahead of everyone else as usual. Laser rave action ahoy! As for the Sunday headliner, well you'll just have to wait but it'll be worth it... and yes I do know who it is!"
