V2 Music, as part of its tenth anniversary, is offering bedroom labels the continent over the chance to win a business development grant with their Cooperative Music venture.
The competition is open to anyone in Europe who is either already running an independent record label or has firm plans to start one. Launched on Sunday, the competition will run for six months, through three stages, and will conclude when the successful applicant is awarded a label deal with Cooperative Music, a division of V2 that’s also home to Wichita, City Slang, Bella Union and Dance To The Radio.
The winner will receive:
A UK & Ireland Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales deal with V2
An International Licensing deal for Continental Europe with Cooperative Music
Free Membership of AIM
Applicants should submit a business plan – a brief business plan – the template for which should be downloaded from V2 Music. A panel of expert industry types will then get to work, as it were.
Applications are open now, so label people: get applying. If you like.
