DiScover

Saturday April 14: DiScover Club is GO
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver April 13th, 2007

Did you come last night, did you did you did you? So many people did that, for a while, Fopp had to close the bar completely. Sorry if you were one of those that came and couldn’t get in – we’ll make it’s made clear next time that wristbands can be collected all day from the Tottenham Court Road store, not just before the show.

But enough about yesterday: our focus is now totally on tomorrow. Another day, another free DrownedinSound show, and this one’s a real treat.

The April edition of our once-a-month DiScover Club, held at Notting Hill Arts Club in association with Rough Trade Shops/RoTa, sees Eugene McGuinness, Prego and the recently signed to DiS Youthmovies (pictured) playing for diddlysquat. It’s an over-18s only event, and starts at 4pm.

You can DiScover Eugene here, and Prego here. Youthmovies, hopefully, you know about – if not, click to their MySpace for an introduction to their unclassifiable alt-indie-prog something rock ‘n’ roll. It’s super neat.

A word of warning: we expect this show to fill up, so do arrive early. Doors are at 4pm, and the afternoon runs until 8pm. Do bring I.D. if you feel you need it, as door staff will ask for proof of age if you’re lucky enough to look younger than you actually are.

On the decks we have the lovely people of A Badge Of Friendship (say hello to them on MySpace, here), and a special set from twentysixfeet’s resident laptop swinger, Dan. Check his sweet beats out here. Plus, we've magic. Fo'real. Tricks and things. Be sure to see some...
