RIP: Capdown split
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly September 19th, 2007

Ska-punk quintet Capdown have split after ten years together as a band.

The Milton Keynes act have released three studio albums and countless EPs over the last decade, growing into their role as stalwarts of the UK's DIY punk scene.

A statement on their MySpace page reads:
"We are now formally announcing that the band will not be continuing to work together as Capdown after the October 2007 tour.

"After completing our last, and best, album in 2007, we have all decided that we want to explore other experiences in life, outside the band unit.

"If you click our official site link, you'll find an archive [of] some of the stuff the band achieved over the years, from way back in 1997, up to 2007. We've tried to put up some stuff that you may not have heard or seen before, as a big thankyou to those who followed the band over the years. Hope you enjoy it .....
Jake, Keith, Tim, Robin, Eddie..."

The band will release limited edition 7" and download single 'No Matter What' on the 5th of November; a track taken from this year's 'Wind-Up Toys' longplayer on Fierce Panda.

They have also plotted a farewell tour, finishing up with a homecoming gig in Milton Keynes on the 9th of November:
