Former X Factor winner and recent number one artist on these shores Leona Lewis has become the first UK artist since 1987 to top the US Billboard Top 100.
Lewis - pictured during her X Factor days - has reached number one on the American chart with 'Bleeding Love', a number one here last year. The last British singer to reach the top spot across the Atlantic was Kim Wilde, with 'You Keep Me Hangin' On', 21 years ago.
What's more, 'Bleeding Love' is a new entry at number one on the Billboard Top 100 - the last UK act to achieve this was Sheena Easton in 1981 with 'Morning Train (Nine To Five)'; before that, Petula Clark's 'Downtown' in 1965.
Lewis wrote of her stateside success on her official website: "Well I really don't know what to say, I'm so overwhelmed right now. I'm getting to share my music with people around the world and it's beyond my wildest dreams. From the bottom of my heart thank u all so much, it's because of you that I am able to do this."
Well done, us.
