Animal Collective, Bat For Lashes and Florence up for Brit Awards
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater January 19th, 2010

Animal Collective, Bat For Lashes, Florence + The Machine, as well as a couple more of 'OUR' acts, have been nominated for a variety of Brit awards, some more surprising than others, in truth.

Florence has the most nominations (with three) being nominated for British Female Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act and best British Album for Lungs. Animal Collective, meanwhile, have been nominated for a whole TWO Brit awards. I know, slightly surprising, despite the massive critical and moderate commercial success of Merriweather Post Pavillion. They're up for International Breakthrough Act, which is amusing after ten years in the business, and Best International Album, for the aforementioned Merriweather.

Elsewhere, in the realm of singular nominations, Natasha Khan a.k.a Bat For Lashes is nominated for British Female Solo Artist, Kasabian for British Group along with Doves and Muse and Friendly Fires for British Breakthrough. There are a few more other mildly interesting nominations but I'm not going to write about them, instead look below for the full list.

So. That's all set to be another interminable award ceremony with some possibly dreadful performances, but on the stage and next to that rostrum thingamy at which they give the awards out. Might not rival Mick Fleetwood and Sam Fox, but you never know, eh?

DiScuss: Anyone care about this? Anyone at all? No, OK then.
