David Gilmour, whose performance as part of the reformed Pink Floyd was the highlight of the summer's Live 8 event, has announced two shows at London's Royal Albert Hall next May.
Gilmour's shows - on May 29th and 30th - are the only confirmed UK dates of a European tour. He releases a new solo record, On An Island, through EMI on March 6th.
Gilmour has not released a solo record since 1984's About Face, concentrating on Pink Floyd until their final studio album, The Division Bell. His new record features contributions from David Crosby and Graham Nash, as well as Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright and televison's smuggest muso, Jools Holland.
