Chris Martin and Michael Stipe, singers in the mightily MOR bands Coldplay and REM respectively, are to team up for a charity record to raise money for Hurrican Katrina victims (anyone see Horizon last night? Shit be messed up).
Well, we say they will - they actually already have. The song 'In The Sun' will be given its first broadcast this Sunday, on US television show Grey's Anatomy. Us neither. It'll then be made available on iTunes in various guises, including a live version and a Justin Timberlake remix.
"The news cycle has moved on and I don't want the public to forget about those who were affected by Katrina or to believe that everything is fine now," said Stipe, pictured. "I had to do something as a Southerner. I had to do something as a public figure. The one thing I can do is sing, and it's probably the best way to get people to pay attention."
