DiS is quite, quite excited to tell you, oh readers of ours, that we've a wad of tickets to give away for Joan As Policewoman's upcoming UK jaunt. "Who?" you ask? Do read on...
NYC-based Joan Wasser (tis her real name) has already released a limited-edition single this year, and is to follow it up with a six-track EP, self titled, on March 13th. It'll be available on CD and on screen-printed and number 12".
Wasser's been compared, vocally, to Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield, and performs as a member of Antony and the Johnsons and in Rufus Wainwright's band. She's played with the likes of Lou Reed, Elton John and even the Scissor Sisters. That's one impressive CV.
