It's so nearly Friday, good people of DiS. That being the case, what better a time is there than now to tell you about one standout event of fantasmaorgasmic sexiness this coming weekend.
The good good people of Silver Rocket have again asked DiS to play records, badly, at their tremendously great Buffalo Bar shindig. Well, I say 'asked', we kinda bullied them into letting us. Why? Trencher, foo'!

Trencher (website, MySpace)
Silver Rocket says: "Occasionally compared to the likes of Lightning Bolt and The Locust, this three-piece have invented their own genre, f*cked-up casio-grindcore. Terrifying and entrancing in equal measures, guitars thrash and squeal, drums beat and grind, vocals scream about things you really don't want to know about... and the keyboard bleeps along in a manner entirely unsuited to its original purpose as a children's musical instrument."
DrownedinSound said: "Scream, keys, scream, drums, scream, bass, repeat repeat repeat… Trencher aren't for kids. "This next one's called 'Autopsy'" they announce, before battering us senseless with another crappy keyboard-propelled thrash nightmare. I don't know exactly how to put my feelings for Trencher into words. They make me sick. But it feels nice."

Silver Rocket says: "If everything was alright with the world you'd already know who Ann Arbor were but would never have heard of the Kaiser Chiefs. Two men and a drum machine making instrumental, but not gentle, post-hardcore noise. They almost defy comparison, but fans of Big Black, Jesus Lizard and the surf rock of early Pixies (or indeed, fans of music in general) are unlikely to find fault."
DrownedinSound said: "Think Shellac getting their low-slung groove on with Justin Broderick, or 65daysofstatic ditching the glitch for some heavy-duty punk workouts. This music is utterly menacing, but completely engrossing."

Silver Rocket says: "Not entirely unlike Part Chimp covering Shellac in a foul temper, Fixit Kid are partial to stoner rock with heavy guitars, screaming, and hitting things hard. John Peel liked them a lot, and he was right to do so. They sound like they might rough you up a bit given half a chance, but are actually Very Nice Blokes."
DrownedinSound said: "I have never been to a gig before where the entire crowd put their fingers in their ears at exactly the same time. Tonight was an exception. Fixit Kid started off the night with a hell of a racket reminiscent of early Big Black with the addition of vocal screams that couldn’t be deciphered but worked a treat."

Silver Rocket says: "Fans of the Phil Collins 3 will know they are a little extreme for some tastes. Motorbikes are a Phil Collins 3 garage-rock spin off that are renowned for being even louder, faster and more distorted. Bring earplugs. Leave your parents at home."
