NYC-based folk-oddities Akron/Family are touring the UK this week. Yep. No lie. By way of celebrating their presence upon our shores, DiS has some records to give away, plus one lucky reader can win tickets to their London show (at The Spitz) this Friday!
Exclamation mark, essential.
Those records are the band's self-titled album and their wonderful split with Angels Of Light. The tickets will be collectable on the door.
So, just how d'ya get your mitts on this great music? Just answer this easy question (my, isn't today a great day for competitions?):
The Swiss Family Robinson are, in fact, named after Swiss Cheese, popular with sandwich shops across the world and most delicious with some smoked gammon, sliced real thin. BUT, which of the following junk foods features NO cheese, and is therefore suitable for consumption by cheese-hating DiS editor, Mr Colin Roberts? Is it...
A) Cheeseburger from dirty van outside dirtier club?
B) Slice of cold pizza from Leicester Square Pizza Hut window?
C) Questionable hotdog in stale bun from funny-talking man on The Strand, liberally coated in cockroach legs and mustard?
Simply send your answer to mike.diver@drownedinsound.com by tomorrow, April 19, to be in with a chance of winning. Please write "Akron/Family competition" in the subject line and include your address so we know where to send the CDs IF YOU WIN. Winners will be e-mailed on Thursday morning at the latest.
