Bob Nanna, Braid vocalist and front man of post-Braid outfit Hey Mercedes, has stated the band's intentions on the Hey Mercedes site: "Chris, Todd, Damon, and Bob (a.k.a. Braid) will be circling the entire country playing all of the old tunes. We're psyched."
Three-quarters of Braid were playing in Hey Mercedes, so don't expect the reformed outfit to be rusty. A retrospective DVD, 'Killing A Camera' (originally released in 2000 on video), will emerge in the US on May 11th. It'll include some 75 minutes of previously unseen material.
No exact dates have yet been announced. Likewise, there are no confirmed plans for new material, but with Hey Mercedes' fortunes floundering, the best idea financially-speaking would be for Bob and co to hit the studio.
Hey Mercedes' two albums, 'Every Night Fireworks' and 'Loses Control' were released through Vagrant in the US, but never officially emerged here. An interview with Bob Nanna, pre-'Loses Control', can be found here.
DiScuss: Braid only, to DiS's knowledge, came to the UK twice (with Burning Airlines and The Get Up Kids). Did you see them? Were they good? Are you ticked off that Hey Mercedes never made it to the UK, and now look unlikely to ever tour here?
