Patriotic Americans Alter Bridge beat up their support act
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver June 29th, 2006

Alter Bridge, the Christian rock outfit counting three former Creed members amongst its line-up, allegedly attacked their support act during a show in Zurich on June 14.

Said support, Living Things (pictured), were only into their fourth song when they were interrupted by the headline act, who charged the stage brandishing an American flag. The trio had paused to make a few choice comments about the state of their home country's administration, prompting the attack. Singer Lillian Berlim told reporters:

"We were in the middle of our second song, and I had some stuff to say about the current US administration and the way they're handling the Iraq war. The Swiss were all behind us, and the crowd was cheering me on. As we went into our fourth song some goon from that Creed band came out swinging an American flag and then threw it at our drummer, Bosh."

Living Things ended their set there and then, as not only was their drummer struck by the flag, but guitarist Corey Becker was also reportedly stamped on by members of Alter Bridge. Which, frankly, isn't really on is it? Members of Alter Bridge have refuted Berlim's claims.

Living Things release 'Bombs Below' on July 10. Something of an aside, that, eh?
