Timo Maas

Label: Perfecto Release Date: 14/05/2001

Important point, this is not an album by Timo Maas. This album does not even include the “whoomp whoomp” Maas remix of the Ibiza 2000 anthem “Dooms Night”. This is Timo’s record collection, slung together in an ever so professional mix by the man himself. The problem is that said record collection is so homogenous, and so expertly mixed, it all sounds like one long unremarkable trance track. There are no hooks, the build ups are mediocre, and those tracks that are vaguely familiar to your average music fan (including Fatboy Slim’s “Star 69” and Placebo’s “Special K”) have been robbed of their initial impact by monotonous beat matching. Avoid.
