_"You make me

You make me hate

You make me

You make me hate you."_

Frankly, bothered. Static-X's opening effort on album proper number four Start A War features the above repeated over and over and over again. Nice olive branch to new listeners, that.

It gets no better: 'I'm The One' scrapes metal against metal while vocalist Wayne Static bleats as if he's getting shafted by a mechanoid donkey (we don't know what he's been through, he tells us; about a million different Pro Tools settings, we tell him), 'Night Terrors' sounds like Korn circa their fourth album decent into critical obscurity (at least the drums sound mighty - new member Nick Oshiro's percussive skills are the sole intentional highlight of Start A War), and 'I Want To Fucking Break It' will have all but the simplest thirteen-year-old 'rebel' ejecting this from CD player, room, house, street,_ existence. _

"This one's for the stupid fuckers!"

Best keep it to yourself then, you stupid fuckers.
