Colombo

Revolution Is Silence

Label:

ltarry by Lucy Tarry August 31st, 2002

"REVOLUTION IS SILENCE"

And with Columbo's quiet network of sounds, the time for change is NOW. This is not the backing track to a bloody empire crushing battle, but more of a gentle cycle revolution where the rallying cry is one of understated signficance, a life-affirming manifesto that grabs you by the throat in the deadliest gentle squeeze.

"To The Boards" is a reverb-laden gem that could be likened to Labradford during their finest moments. Whilst the slow melancholic patter of "Enter Life" builds nicely into the final and undoubtedly best track of this beautiful EP- "Cinderella". A mini-epic that could soundtrack an Eddie Murphy movie and transform it into a meaningful and emotional work of genius with its rolling melodic buzz and drums like a thousand tiny handclaps.

Colombo's revolution will not be concerned with destroying or destructing, only renewing, reshaping and transforming- and it's on its way. You have been warned.
