In a previous life, Jack White was a black blues man in the 1930s. The past two singles from 'White Blood Cells' have showcased two different sides to the band - an acoustic up-beat stomper and, um, electric up-beat stomper. 'Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground' showcases the shit side to the band, more like 'Dead Wood and Dirty Guitar', all wobbly vocals and no tune. Ignore this. It is a blip. Jack gets to showoff some nice slide guitar on _'Suzy Lee'_ and gets in another predictable cover version, 'Stop Breaking Down' (jesus.. he sounds like Robert Plant on this). Both these tracks were previously broadcast on the Evening Session, so there's not much on this single for the White Stripes diehard fan. Personally, I would like to see them cover something by S Club Juniors or 2 Unlimited.
