In a perfect world, I want all music to sound like this. Not necessarily post-rocking odes to ethereality, more what this 12 minute paean to perfection does to me.
I want to hear things that take me away, transcend me from my current tumultuous torpors, and offer me another place to go. I want to be reminded of better times, the chance of going to better places and the idea that harmony is an obtainable goal rather than a derisory fancy.
Swaying, deftly-enclosed pillows of noise and vision which open out and elongate for miles upon miles of sonic grace, like a stone skimming endlessly across a serene lake.
In the ideal world, every song would do this, every film would be Donnie Darko and every breath would be valued as its first.
