Today, their European label home Glitterhouse, released the following statement from the band:
"Dear All,
It is with some regrets but also with confidence that we, 16 Horsepower, have decided to end our journey as a band. We have shared some unforgettable moments and hope to have given you all we could. An accumulation of differences, mostly political and spiritual, separates us today and prevents us from honestly going any further. We will remain active as Lilium and Woven Hand. We stay available to you and welcome your comments and inquiries through our record labels or via e-mail.
Sincerely,
16HP"
While fans had awaited the next 16 Horsepower studio album, all three core members had already embarked upon these two now permanent "side projects". Lilium consists of the band's rhythm section Pascal Humbert and Jean-Yves Tola while Woven Hand remains the solo work of frontman David Eugene Edwards.
As previously arranged, the first 16 Horsepower DVD '16 HP' will be released on Glitterhouse, Monday 25 April with a review appearing on site soon.
David Eugene Edwards, under the name Woven Hand, plays London's Borderline on Thurs 5 May.
