Rejoice, fans of the Gulag! Beirut and his Orkestar will be back in October with a new album.
The record is still untitled, but a tracklisting has been confirmed. Find it lying somewhere below. A lot of it is French.
Beirut, AKA 21-year-old Zach Condon, was flanked by an eight-piece band for the recordings. Condon was also helped out by Owen Pallett, who helped put together the string arrangements and contributed vocals to 'Cliquot'.
Tracklisting, as promised:
'A Call To Arms'
'Nantes'
'A Sunday Smile'
'Guyamas Sonora'
'La Banlieu'
'Cliquot'
'The Penalty'
'Forks and Knives (La Fête)'
'In The Mausoleum'
'Un Dernier Verre (Pour la Route)'
'Cherbourg'
'St. Apollonia'
'The Flying Club Cup'
Beirut will play a free gig on London's South Bank this coming Monday - if you want to go, get yourself to the Royal Festival Hall at 6pm. You'll be lead, possibly by the hand, to a secret location and the show will start at half six.
