Drowned in Sound has a new hero. A woman at a karaoke night embarked upon a violent rampage after one of the bar's patrons launched into a reindition of Coldplay's 'Yellow'.
As the intro to the ditty dirged into view, the woman reportedly exclaimed: "Oh, no, not that song!" and soon after: "I can't stand that f*cking song!".
She then proceeded to beat the man with her fists and the microphone he was holding all the while continuing her tirade against him, the band and the song.
The woman, described as a "little hippy chick" by witnesses, was then dragged outside by bystanders before turning her ire on one of them - a bartender at Changes in Seattle.
Police were called. Undeterred, the woman continued her assault; headbutting an off-duty policewoman several times and forcing the call-out of both patrol officers and a special Gang Unit.
"They blocked the whole street off," said the bruised barman.
The banshee was taken to jail after receiving treatment for injuries sustained. Bartender's notes taken at Changes suggest that the only drink the woman knocked back was a single shot of Jagermeister.
