Atlanta’s Black Lips are to star in a new film about the D.I.Y music scene in America, writing new music for the score.
The quartet - Cole Alexander, Jared Swilley, Joe Bradley and Ben Eberbaugh – will play fictional band the Renegades in Let It Be; directed by Roger Rawlings and produced by Breakfast Club producer Andrew Meyer with Winn Coslick.
"The story of the movement in underground American music that was known as D.I.Y.," Vice, the band’s label, are working in tandem with Springboard Films on the picture to get it done.
"The movie will be filmed throughout the Southeast and will include notable music of the period and new music written by the band [Black Lips]," quotes Pitchfork from a press release.
