The whole event kicked off in Modesto, California (Fairchild's home town) where he got a bit tipsy and decided to relax for a bit in his friends truck. Then a pair of police officers approached Fairchild and accused him of being drunk in public. After being 'cuffed (to which Fairchild agreed too) he tried to give his keys to a friend and a fight broke out which Fairchild alleges involved the band, their friends and nine car loads of police.
The aftermath included keyboardist Tim Dryden being arrested for obstruction of justice and Fairchild also going in a cell although not being formally charged on any count.
In the same statement, Fairchild confirmed that the band have been in the studio recently, although no details were given on the bands follow up to their last release, The Sophtware Slump.
