The long-awaited A Skin, A Night film documenting The National recording Boxer, their much-loved but most-difficult album yet, is to see the light of day on May 26th through Beggars Banquet.
The film is described as "a highly unusual documentary replete with behind-the-scenes footage of The National on tour and in the studio."
The director, Vincent Moon, is the mastermind behind the Take Away Shows series which depicts some of our favourite acts (including recently REM) performing in some weird and wonderful locations.
Accompanying the DVD is The Virginia EP featuring the usual assortment of b-sides, demos, live tracks plus one new studio recording: a cover of Caroline Martin's 'Without Permission'.
The band are to tour the US supporting REM for most of May and June but return to UK and Ireland for these dates:
May:
13-15 Dublin Olympia Theatre
17 Minehead Butlins (EITS ATP)
July:
4 London Hyde Park (Wireless Festival)
13 Kinross T In The Park
August:
17 Brecon Beacons Green Man Festival
