Amid war and terror alerts Montreal 9-piece, experimental kings, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, were detained for several hours whilst travelling to play a gig in Oklahoma.
The band reportedly stopped off at a petrol station, with their two vans and an equipment truck. Then what we can only guess was some obese, hot-dog munching, greasy haired, petrol station owner, rang the police, accusing GY!BE of being "potential terrorists."
After hours of interrogation, they were sent on their way, without any charges being pressed, after the Police realised the Canadians weren't a threat to American "freedom and democracy" to quote Mister.Bush on a related matter.
"I just feel very lucky that we weren't Pakistani or Korean," Godspeed frontman Efrim Menuck told Pitchfork Media. "They detained 1,000 people in California, no one knows what happened to them. We're just lucky we're nice white kids from Canada. That's what I feel lucky about."
