New album The Wildhearts Must Be Destroyed met with a typically mixed response from fans, but the band will be promoting the record with a new single release, Top of the World, on October 27. Exclusive b-sides will be spread across 3 CD formats in an attempt to build on the chart sucess of the previous three singles.
Meanwhile, Ginger is currently in the middle of a solo acoustic tour in which he is performing a mixture of favourites and rarities from a range of his projects, while the full band will be opening for Motorhead throughout October. Dates and ordering information for both tours can be found here.
Yet again, it seems highly unlikely that the band will be joined by bassist Danny McCormack, who was replaced on their last tour by Cardiacs and SG5 member, Jon Poole. However, tickets are currently onsale for a Yo Yo's gig at the London Garage on October 22. Whether or not this is the same band that McCormack featured in after The Wildhearts went on hold back in 1997 remains to be announced, but with rumours circulating that he is to reform the band with ex-Wildheart Jef Streatfield on guitar, that gig could be well worth checking out.
