With an opening that couldn't be jauntier if it had a flat cap perched upon its head at a particularly cheeky angle, 'Week In Week Out' sounds lyrically and musically like peak-era disaffected Jam. Which is in itself, an obvious mark of quality. Brighton boredom, but it could eminate from any British town.
The Ordinary Boys are a none-more English kind of band, and 'Week In Week Out' wafts of Saturday morning TV and Squeeze by the sea front. For those of you that find Little England a vomitous concept, look away now; people who appreciate the observational nuances of the village green world, à la Davies, Weller and Albarn, are invited to tea.
