Love it or hate it, Mark Greaney's helium-fuelled voice is back for another three minutes of quiet/loud falsetto wailing.
They may have a new bass player in the aptly named Sarah Fox, but little else about JJ72's angst tinged indie has changed in the time they've been away. It's a reassuringly familiar formula, with cooed verse descending into a heavy chorus that threatens to make those hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
It's a fairly inoffensive few minutes of indie-angst pop, but a good comeback single should hit you smack between the eyes. This, on the other hand, sneaks up behind you and taps you on the shoulder.
Still worth a listen, though, if just for Greaney's pronunciation of "I'm" in the verse...
