The Favours

Filthy Little Angels Singles Club: EP One

Label: Filthy Little Angels Release Date: 09/08/2004

6674
domgourlay by Dom Gourlay September 10th, 2004

Those lovely people at Filthy Little Angels have come up trumps again, following in the footsteps of such luminaries as Caff, Fierce Panda and Sarah by launching their own singles club.

To commemmorate the delightfully amateurish but ridiculously enjoyable Joyfest, they've decided to feature two of the bands from that bill on their first release. If it's passion, aggression, and surefire attitude you're after then they couldn't have come up with a better pair of candidates.

On one side, The Favours offer the Blondie'n'chainsaw scraping subterfuge of 'Kill' and the slightly mellower pop toned 'Out Of Control'. To compliment this, Welsh trio The International Karate Plus deliver the ever-so polished in a Mr Sheen does Malkmus way of 'Nexus In A Chain Of Thought', followed by the anthem to hallucinogenic Leeds United fans that is 'Hats Off To Harry Kewell'.

And what's more, they're genius, one and all.
