Help She Can't Swim

I Don't Need You

Label: Fantastic Plastic Release Date: 21/03/2005

7942
George by George March 22nd, 2005

Somebody has irked help she can’t swim, lately. Hooray!

Angry songs are where it’s at. Fact. And help she can’t swim do a good line in cross. In title track, 'I Don’t Need You', Leesey’s unusually laid back vocals belie the venom of the lyrics, but the great, belching whoops of the chorus are where it’s really at. B-side, 'LA Ain’t No Great Place To Be', is the stand out track of this release however. It’s ferocious delivery is reminiscent of **Mclusky at their 'Gareth Brown Says' best, and the line ’ Don’t close your eyes for too long my dear….you’re a cunting fuck’ is a refrain for everyone who’s ever been thwarted in love. Third track 'Small Boy on a High Building' continues the crotchety theme and ends up coming over like a pissed off Bis. Brilliant.

help she can’t swim, may they continue to get out of bed on the wrong side.
