DiS + Silver Rocket x Noisestar = CUT & PASTE
DiS + Silver Rocket x Noisestar = CUT & PASTE
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver February 4th, 2005
Stick this through your mixer and scratch it: Drowned in Sound + Silver Rocket x Noisestar = CUT & PASTE.

Yup, DiS has again joined forces with Silver Rocket to bring you a fine evening of rockin’ and rollin’ entertainment, that lasts right through until the night buses seem like a good plan.

Well, I say ‘joined forces’; we’re their bitch, really.

Also on board for February’s Cut & Paste are the good boys of Noisestar, responsible for releasing records by The Wow, Charlottefield, Ship’s A Going Down, Princess Headbutt, and soon The Edmund Fitzgerald and Bilge Pump. Get in!

So, what’s the score on those doors?

CUT & PASTE
Saturday, February 19th
@ The Buffalo Bar (Highbury/Islington Tube)
8pm-2am
£5 in, or £3 if you’re on the club’s mailing list (if not, what are you waiting for?)

Playing LIVE:

COVE
These Tunbridge Wells boys play intense post-rock, with the emphasis on ROCK. You’ll dance, you’ll scream, you might want to make love to them. Be warned though: these boys get in a sweat…
“…another twin-guitar post-rock trio on paper, in the flesh Cove transcend lazy pigeonholing through an unmatchable, near-unbearable intensity.” rock sound

THAT F*CKING TANK
Two-thirds of Leeds punks Kill Yourself get all stop-start on your ass… think Lightning Bolt without the fuzz, or Pink and Brown without the perversion. You don’t know why you’re dancing, but you are. These guys are so hot right now…
“a kind of danceable, hypnotic rock and roll jam… Duos are the new trios, you know.” Drowned In Sound

COLLAPSE
The unknowns of our party – gatecrashers that might just spike the punch and snog your girlfriend. Fact is we don’t know a thing about them, but the Noisestar folk know talent when they hear it, so expect Collapse to be bigger than Jesus in all of, um, seven hours. Or something…
“I don’t know what this band is like, but I guess they’ll be good and I’ll dance to ‘em and stuff…” A guy

Once the bands are all packed up and pished, there’ll be DANCING. Silver Rocket and DiS DJs will carry the party on through until close, at which point we’ll slap on our coats and get a slap-up ‘bab from the shop round the corner. Chilli sauce? Damn straight, brother…
