Hot Chip have told MTV that they think Arctic Monkeys will scoop the on-our-doorstep Mercury Music Prize.
The London-based synth-rock-pop-dance-whatever (we like 'em, so stuff your pigeonholes with feathers instead) are up for the prize themselves, but in endearingly modest fashion are backing the Sheffield rockers to win.
Member Alexis Taylor said:
"We had a nice time with the Arctic Monkeys in Sweden. We played at a festival called Accelerator over there and they were around and it was very nice. I'm gonna put some money on them! I haven't actually checked our odds yet."
