Ireland's Electric Festival set to return in September
Lorelei_22 by Laurel Dreher April 27th, 2005
And now, for the latest festival news going out to the loyal electro-techno wizards in the house....

The Electric Picnic (a Boutique Music Festival) will return this year for its revamped second run on the 3rd & 4th of September. The event has upgraded to Stradbally Hall Estate, Co Laois, Ireland, and will now offer the chance for 25,000 to enjoy the two day festival (as compared to last year's 15,000).

So far, the confirmed line-up consists of: Kraftwerk, Fatboy Slim, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Flaming Lips, Royksopp, Arcade Fire, Mercury Rev, Damien Dempsey, Toots & the Maytals, Goldfraap, Stereo MCs, Mixmaster Mike, DJ Sneak, Asian Dub Foundation, Laurent Garnier, De La Soul, Radio Soulwax/2 Many DJs, Human League, Amp Fiddler, Nouvelle Vague, Mr. Scruff, with heaps more to be announced.

And, not only will you be able to enjoy the fine array artists, but there are also multiple chances to indulge yourself in activities that may or may not seem a bit trippy. The International Comedy Club Stage will once again be hosted by Tommy Tiernan and Des Bishop, and "Lost Vagueness" will put on what has been described as "a veritable collection of theatrical flamboyance," whatever that means. If you're feeling a bit tense, slip away to the Bodysoul massage and therapy area. Also available will be the Silent Disco, Cinema, a great big food market, aaaaaand the Fairylove Fairies, who will host a fairy lounge for your sensory delight.
