Ash's Mark Hamilton - he's the tall, bass-playing one - has told NME a little about the band's forthcoming studio album, their fifth in all.
Hamilton told the magazine that one song, 'Polaris', had "an underlining U2 vibe to the overall song". Great!
Also cited as acts of inspiration are Bob Dylan, The Flaming Lips and, worryingly, Foo Fighters. The trio currently have fourteen tracks recorded for the new record, and are expected to add a couple more prior to announcing a tracklisting.
The as-yet-untitled album, recorded in France, is expected to be released in March 2007.
