Jay Kay - popular(?) singer with popular(!) band Jamiroquai - is to quit music.
But only for a year. Sorry. Not for good. Just a year. Twelve short months. Still, that's time enough for a good half-dozen driving convictions to come the man's way.
Kay says that the release of his greatest hits compilation - out next week - affords him the luxury of closing a chapter of his career. Um, cliché much? Whatever, silly-hat-man.
Kay, he said:
"I like the sense of closure that the greatest hits album has to it. I've closed this chapter of my career at the right time and it's great. I'm ready to move on and see what comes next - a year off, that's the plan."
And you know what they say about best laid plans, right? What? No? What? Pub? Okay...
