Bad news, fans of Rolo Tomassi's six-string shredder Joe: the guitarist fractured his wrist at yesterday's Big Scary Monsters-organised 5-a-side tournament in London.
Say the band via a MySpace bulletin:
We played at the BSM 5-a-side football tournament yesterday and Joe fractured his wrist. We go on tour in a few days so this isn't good.
Fortunately, our good friend and long-time collaborator, the exceptional Calvin Rhodes, has agreed to practice with us for the next few days so we can still play all the shows we have booked for the next few weeks. Joe might also be playing by the second week depending on how his arm heals.
The other bad news was we didn't win. Still, though, we drew 3-3 with DrownedinSound, who made the final.
Indeed we did! The DiS team finished top of our group - beating Secondsmile and the Hassle/Vagrant team and drawing with the Rolo Tomassi/I Was A Cub Scout team, and defeated BSM themselves in the semi-final, after extra time, to make the final against the high-scoring and highly organised Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly team. They destroyed us in the final, but at least we got there... we're hurting today, believe.
