Mystery Jets pull further festival appearances
dandruff by Ashraf Dumile August 6th, 2008

A casualty to the weekend’s bumper pack of festivals has come in the form of Mystery Jets, pulling out of the two Victoria Park events, Field Day** and Underage this Friday and Saturday, and their Sunday performance at Summer Sundae.

After withdrawing from the Kendall Calling and Y Not line-ups last weekend, the cancellations are apparently due to front man Blaine Harrison having recently been in hospital receiving treatment for a reoccurring injury relating to his Spina Bifida.

Harrison sent out this note:

_“At this point in time it is impossible to say when we will be back on full fighting form, but I'd say Reading and Leeds are definitely as good a goal as any. I want to apologise to our fans up north who were looking forward to some Mystery Jets love this weekend at Summer Sundae and at Y Not and Kendall last weekend too. And to those who had planned to see us at Haldern and Newquay…

“Believe me, I would swap my intravenous drip and shitty hospital lasagne to be there any day of the week.

“P.S if anyone has any good ideas as how to kill some time (hint: prison break season II) please post suggestions here or to our managements offices. Nice one.”_
