Births, deaf-ears and marriages: pop gossip
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver November 30th, 2005

Want some random music-world gossip to pass a minute or two? Be our guest. Just a shame you can't read this on the bog as you would the Bizarre section...

BIRTHS

It gives DiS no little pleasure to announce that Mr Jack White, of The White Stripes fame, is expecting a child with his wife Karen Elson. Whispers of a forthcoming junior Jack reached us last month, but we kept our gobs shut 'til it was official. A representative for the family reported that the couple are "deliriously happy". Well done, Jack.

DEAF-EARS

Word on the street, although that's Old Compton Street we're talking about, is that Elton John fancies Gary Barlow.

To sing at his wedding to David Furnish. What?

Okay, so we're crossing wires somewhat: the truth is that The Mirror has reported that Furnish has asked the Take That singer to perform. Barlow apparently said: "I don't know what I'm going to sing yet. I don't think I'm going to write something, I'll perform something from the back catalogue."

Um, enjoy.

MARRIAGES

DiS is fairly certain you know already - it's all over those newspaper boards out on the high street - but George Michael is to wed his long-term partner, Kenny Goss.

The ex-Wham man reckons the civil ceremony will happen sooner rather than later, once the new civil partnerships laws come into effect in the UK on December 21st.

"It'll be relatively soon after it comes in, probably early next year," said Michael, looking for 'Fastlove' quite literally. He's also rumoured to be attending Elton and David's marriage. So, like, there.
